Lionel Messi has done it again.

The Argentine superstar scored his 75th career direct free-kick goal as Inter Miami drew 2–2 with San Diego FC, moving him closer to the all-time record for free-kick goals.

Messi produced another trademark set-piece in the 24th minute. From outside the penalty area, he curled a left-footed free kick toward the far corner, with the ball hitting the post before crossing the line.

The goal was also Messi's 20th MLS goal of the 2026 season and his 101st goal for Inter Miami. His career total has now reached 930 goals across club and international football, according to reports following the match.

Messi's 75th free-kick goal leaves him just three goals behind Brazilian legend Marcelinho Carioca, who is credited with 78 direct free-kick goals.
