Lionel Messi has reached another major milestone in his remarkable career.

The Inter Miami captain scored his 100th goal for the club during the 2026 Campeones Cup against Cruz Azul, becoming the first player in Inter Miami history to reach 100 goals. He achieved the milestone in just 115 appearances across all competitions.

Messi’s 100th Goal

Messi opened the scoring in the 24th minute against Cruz Azul with a header from a Luis Suárez cross. It was an unusual way for the Argentine superstar to reach such a landmark, but it proved to be an important goal.

Inter Miami eventually won the match 2–0, with Casemiro scoring the second goal after Messi helped create the opportunity from a corner.

The moment also had a special connection to Messi’s Miami story. Cruz Azul was the opponent when Messi scored his first goal for Inter Miami in 2023, and the same club was there when he reached 100.

100 Goals in Just 115 Games

Messi's scoring rate in Miami has been remarkable. He has scored 100 goals in 115 appearances, averaging about 0.87 goals per game.

Inter Miami's official breakdown shows that Messi scored 11 goals in 2023, 23 in 2024, 43 in 2025 and 23 so far in 2026.

The pace is also faster than when Messi reached 100 goals for Barcelona or Argentina. He needed 188 appearances to reach 100 for Barcelona and 174 international appearances to reach the same mark with Argentina.

How Many Goals Will Messi Finish With?

That is now the big question for Inter Miami supporters.

Messi has already reached 100 goals, but he continues to score at a high rate. How many more goals he adds will depend on how long he continues playing, his appearances, injuries, competition schedule and his role within the team.

If he maintains anything close to his current scoring rate, another major scoring total is within reach. However, his eventual Inter Miami total cannot be known yet.

A New Chapter in Miami

Since joining Inter Miami in 2023, Messi has become one of the central figures in the club's history. His 100th goal adds another milestone to a Miami career that has already produced multiple trophies.
